Guedes' desire to play at Mestalla again
Gonçalo Guedes is counting down the hours to his potential return to Mestalla. The Portuguese has had a positive comeback from injury in Valencia CF's last two games against Granada CF ad Getafe CF, and feels ready to feature at home this Friday if selected by coach Albert Celades.
The number 7 has not featured at Mestalla since the Champions League tie against Ajax last year. Following that game he would score for Portugal during the international break, but later suffered the injury that has sidelined him for recent games.

Gradually getting back to full fitness, Guedes is a useful weapon for Valencia CF, offering speed, dribbling skill and excellent passing that have delighted Mestalla in games against Sevilla FC, Levante UD, Villarreal CF, Deportivo La Coruña and more since his arrival in Spain. He also has some history against Atletico Madrid...

It was against Los Colchoneros that he debuted at Mestalla as a Valencia CF player in the 2017/18 season, although in the 2015/16 campaign he had also met Atletico when playing for Portuguese club Benfica in the Champions League. That day he became the younges tplayer from his country to score in the competition, aged just 18 years and 305 days.
After several games watching from the stands, Guedes is eager to re-enter the fold at his home ground on LaLiga Matchday 24.
